Role:

As an Employment Specialist, you’ll be the bridge between individuals seeking employment and the opportunities that can change their lives. You’ll meet regularly with clients in person — whether at their workplace, a local coffee shop, a library, or out in the community — helping them prepare for, secure, and thrive in their jobs. You’ll also connect with employers, families, and state agency partners to ensure each person we support is set up for long-term success. This role will serve both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties and is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the go and creating impact through relationships. Your days will be filled with meeting with clients, job site visits, and creative problem-solving — all while working alongside a team that truly cares. Responsibilities Assist individuals with disabilities in securing and maintaining employment through tailored support and guidance. Conduct interviews and assessments to understand client needs and capabilities. Develop and implement training programs to enhance job readiness and skill development. Collaborate with community organizations to promote workforce development initiatives. Provide mentorship and coaching to clients, fostering personal and professional growth.

Qualifications:

Experience as an employment specialist, job coach, or career counselor is preferred. Option 1: High school diploma and four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities Option 2: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, HR, business, economics, etc.) and one year of relevant experience Clean driving record and access to reliable, safe transportation Able to pass a Level II background check and drug screening Bonus if you’ve worked in sales, hospitality, customer service, or social services
