Career Pathways Specialist Tallahassee State College Tallahassee, FL Join Our Team at Tallahassee State College Career Pathways Specialist Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025 , is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Career Pathways Specialist – P02733 with Adult Education Programs. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. What You’ll Do As a Career and Academic Advisor, you’ll develop and implement strategies to develop individual learning plans, analyzing labor market statistics, and seek and establish career pathways for students.
The day-to-day responsibilities will be:
Develops and presents Adult Education student orientation activities and career topics such as the implementation and evaluation of student career assessment instruments, interview skills, technology, analyzing labor market statistics, and guiding students to appropriate career pathways. Meet with Education staff to discuss individual student’s needs and progress. Guide and advise all new and returning adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests. Makes on‐campus and off‐campus preparation and implementation of supplementary curricular initiatives for Adult Education students such as exam and other supplementary activities designed to improve students’ readiness to take the GED® Exam. Assists the Program Coordinator with supervision, training, and professional development for Adult Education program staff. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law or administrative policies. Assists Program Coordinator in administering all State, Federal, and Public Assistance Adult Education and Literacy grants. Assists with the data collection and reporting of grant‐related activities and; researches and develops materials for best practices that will enhance program effectiveness, and staff and resource development. Confers with other team members and area agencies to facilitate and implement student outreach and recruitment activities. Our ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience in student advising. Master’s degree is preferred and may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. Experience as described above may substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.
