Bradenton, FL 34205 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals, particularly those with Intellectual and developmental disabilities, in achieving their employment goals. This position involves educating clients about their rights under employment labor law, conducting interviews, mentoring job seekers, and facilitating workforce development initiatives. The Employment Specialist will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to create inclusive job opportunities and provide ongoing support throughout the employment process. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the needs and strengths of clients seeking employment. Educate clients on employment labor laws and their rights in the workplace. Facilitate interviews and assist clients in preparing for job opportunities. Mentor individuals through the job search process, providing guidance on resume writing and interview techniques. Collaborate with employers to identify suitable job openings for clients. Develop and implement workforce development programs tailored to the needs of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Provide addiction counseling support as needed, ensuring a holistic approach to client well-being. Maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes, reporting regularly to management. Stay informed about best practices in social work and employment services to continuously improve program effectiveness. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Strong understanding of employment labor laws and workforce development principles. Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Proven mentoring experience, demonstrating the ability to guide individuals toward achieving their goals. Knowledge of addiction counseling practices is a plus. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong organizational abilities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
