Reports To:
Academy Director The Role As an Intervention Coach , you will play a vital role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they stay engaged and on track to graduate. You will work closely with Graduation Candidates (GCs), educators, and support staff to provide targeted interventions, personalized learning strategies, and holistic support. Key Responsibilities Academic Support & Intervention Identify students in need of additional academic support through data analysis and staff collaboration. Provide one-on-one and small-group interventions to reinforce key concepts, improve skill gaps, and boost confidence. Develop personalized learning strategies aligned with students’ needs and progress. Utilize data-driven decision-making to adjust interventions and track student performance. Student Engagement & Retention Serve as a mentor and advocate for assigned students, building trusting relationships to encourage persistence. Monitor student attendance, coursework completion, and overall engagement to provide timely interventions. Implement incentive programs and engagement strategies to improve student motivation. Work collaboratively with the student support team to address barriers to learning. Collaboration & Advocacy Partner with teachers, Grade Coaches, and academy staff to create a seamless support system for students. Participate in professional development and data reviews to continuously improve intervention strategies. Engage with families, community organizations, and support networks to foster student success beyond the classroom. Advocate for students’ academic and personal needs, connecting them with appropriate resources.
What We’re Looking For Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
Certification:
Florida educator’s license with a secondary English endorsement or Mathematics endorsement is
REQUIRED
for this position.
Experience :
2+ years of experience working with at-risk youth, academic intervention, or student support services.
Skills :
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a focus on equity and inclusivity.
Passion :
A deep commitment to supporting students who have disengaged from traditional school settings. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in non-traditional or alternative education settings.
