The coach provides personalized guidance to help students set clear academic goals, manage their time effectively, develop study skills, and overcome challenges. The position also provides motivational support, encourages self-directed learning and helps students access resources that foster academic success What you will be doing Serves as the primary point of contact for out-of-state students enrolled in online programs, providing individualized support and guidance Assists students in setting and refining academic goals aligned with program requirements and personal aspirations Coaches’ students in effective time management, study habits, and organizational strategies tailored for online learning Identifies academic or personal challenges early and collaborate with students to develop proactive, solution-focused strategies Conducts regular check-ins and feedback sessions to monitor student progress and maintain engagement Encourages self-directed learning and foster a growth mindset through positive reinforcement and motivational support Guides students to appropriate institutional resources (e.g., tutoring, advising, technical support, mental health services) Maintains detailed and accurate documentation of student interactions, goals, and progress Collaborates with faculty, advisors, and support staff to ensure cohesive and coordinates student support Stays informed on institutional policies, online learning best practices, and issues specific to out- of-state students to provide informed guidance Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field and three (3) years of related experience All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Knowledge and proficiency in computers, especially Microsoft Office applications Possess strong oral and written communication skills Strong knowledge of student support programs and ability to make proper referrals Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines and with attention to detail Ability to work independently and take initiative and responsibility for scheduling individual sessions with students Ability to supervise students while on campus and assess student needs Ability to assess and provide recommendations for additional assistance as needed for student well-being Ability to conduct workshops, seminars, and trainings Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments Ability to travel to out-of-area to State colleges and universities as needed Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Preferences Certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, will receive preference and priority for this job vacancy.
