Job Description:
The Coordinator of Welding Technology•Inmate Training is directly accountable to the Manager•Corrections Program for the following duties and responsibilities. Stay up-to-date with professional trends in the welding field and help facilitate the continual change that may be required to keep the program current and relevant. This position is an at-will employment position and is expressly contingent upon the existence and renewal of the Florida Department of Corrections and Northwest Florida State College Contractual Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Fulfill contractual obligations. Provide excellence in instruction to the enrolled inmates.
Utilize approved textbook(s) and/or other instructional materials as directed.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure student success.
Work closely with NWFSC Skilled Trades Program Director with industry trends and material needs.
Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
Directly supervise all students assigned to the class.
Maintain discipline and keep all students safe.
Monitor student attendance and report as directed.
Follow course outlines and objectives and be able to evaluate students.
Be able to teach assigned classes and effectively manage the day-to-day operation of the class and trailer.
Provide all class lectures, lab, and instruction according to the required curriculum.
Maintain academic records.
Maintain equipment and supplies to the highest standards according to the guidelines set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the facility.
Perform other duties as assigned Benefits Health insurance for employee and dependent coverage available.

Requirements:
Certificate in Welding Technology from an accredited institution
High school diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years of full-time employment as a welder with a Welding technology certificate
Successful completion of a welding examination is a condition of employment for this position.
Documented experience in SMAW welding process.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in welding is strongly preferred.
AWS or other related welding certification
