Responsibilities Advocates for the employment of individuals with disabilities and the mission of Quest by providing disability awareness training/guidance to potential/current employers. Educates potential/current employers on what individuals with a developmental disability can do and how their abilities can provide a positive impact to their business through lower turnover, consistent productivity, and an improved ROI Pursues employment for individuals with disabilities by various business development efforts. These efforts could include, but are not limited to, walking into hiring companies to pursue job leads, calling hiring companies to see what open positions they have available and what the requirements/qualifications are for those open positions and attending job fairs Employment options will vary from individual to individual and must reflect the employment outcomes and desire of said individual Each individual referral from VR has a potential financial impact of at least $5,433 and potentially, $7,570 Caseload size vary depending on number of referrals from VR, but could be as high as 30 Acts as liaison with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to facilitate appropriate services and supports to the individual with a disability as outlined in Vocational Rehabilitation’s Individualized Written Rehabilitation Plan (IWRP) or other referral sources (i.e., APD) Acts as liaison with the individual’s family, support coordinator, group home or guardian when appropriate and helps guide them in their role of finding and maintaining employment for the individual with a disability Uses their personal vehicle to transport individuals with a disability during job development efforts Facilitates and participates in all aspects of initial employment for the individual with a disability, including but not limited to, travel training or transportation options, work schedules, employer paperwork, pre-hire requirements (i.e., drug testing, background screening, etc.), and new hiring training Provides on-site training and support, for up to 120 days, to the individual after their new hiring training to ensure the individual’s acquisition and retention of job duties. Develops appropriate, customized, training tools to assist individual in their new position. Negotiates and acts as a mediator with the individual’s manager, when appropriate, to resolve skill or employment issues and maintain individual’s employment Facilitates transition of individuals hired from Employment Services (VR) to Follow Along Services (APD) as appropriate Completes required documentation, including but not limited to, initial referral paperwork, progress notes of all job development efforts, and all contact with the individual with the disability and others related to individual’s case. Creates and maintains the individual’s hard copy file within the Employment Services Department Provides coverage for co-workers and may be asked to staff community events Adheres to all company policies, especially those concerning the record keeping and confidentiality of the individual with the disability Participates in staff meetings and trainings as assigned by Supervisor or required by Quest Performs other duties and assignments as requested by Supervisor or Quest At least 50% of individuals participating in Quest’s Employment Services will be hired at local businesses throughout the community Qualifications Any of the following tiers of expertise will be considered: Master’s degree or Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and written documentation (resume) of one year of successful experience and employment in counseling, job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program OR/ Associates degree in Arts from an accredited college or university and written documentation (resume) of two years of successful experience and employment in counseling, job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program OR/ Written documentation (resume) of four years of successful experience and employment in counseling, job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Complete extensive local travel using personal vehicle Self-supervise and have efficient time management skills Work in a variety of business settings and with various levels of management Communicate effectively; verbally and written Provide excellent customer service to individuals with a disability, their families, employers, community organizations, and funding agencies in a positive and professional manner Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans
