The role you’ll contribute:
The Tissue Services Training Coordinator (TSTC) excels in the Tissue Recovery Coordinator (TRC) position and is responsible for all TRC professional development activities. The TSTC collaborates with the Manager of Tissue Recovery Services to implement training programs. The TSTC must have mastery of OurLegacy policies; State of Florida laws; Federal laws and regulations; and industry Tissue donation standards and ensure compliance with same. The TSTC develops and delivers TSTC training in the standards, requirements, practices and principles of tissue recovery and aseptic technique. The training goal is to ensure each employee is competent to facilitate their duties independently. The TSTC evaluates gaps in employee training and development and creates strategies enabling employees to achieve their potential. The TSTC applies the principles of adult learning and education when developing programs. In the course of fulfilling all of the above responsibilities, the TSTC must emulate AdventHealth’s service standards of Love Me; Keep Me Safe; Own It; and Make It Easy.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Develops comprehensive training programs for all tissue services team members to include identified readings, lectures and testing plans to ensure competency. Continually develops and revises training materials for all training plans. Revisions include new concepts and/or procedures within the organ and tissue donation process.
Monitors tissue services team members to ensure successful progression through the orientation program. This includes regular meetings to ensure staff are successfully completing the lecture, exam phase and are documenting skills development events.
Develops, implements and monitors new tissue services team member orientation to OurLegacy. This includes internal and external meetings with donation partners to better understand relationships within the donation and transplantation community.
Makes recommendations to managers regarding academic and technical competency of staff training. Recommendations may include continued training, re-training or termination of employment due to inability to demonstrate required competencies.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Associate Preferred
3 in the recovery of tissue at an FDA certified Tissue Bank Required
Certified Tissue Bank Specialist Required
