Our pre-release and post-release programs provide job training and placement, and comprehensive support services to people returning from incarceration and others who have been affected by the justice system with the goal of facilitating successful transitions back into the community. We motivate our clients to become productive, responsible citizens, and our programs help prevent recidivism, reduce the repeated costs of incarceration, and improve public safety. Our dedicated team supports the career opportunities, mental health, and overall stability of our clients to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

Position Overview :

The primary purpose of the Job Coach is to be the catalyst for the successful transition of a Ready4Work Client from the classroom to employment. The Job Coach will match program participants with employers based on experience, workforce goals and aptitude. Coaches will also work with employers to ensure that their needs are being satisfied in order to create long-term success for all stakeholders. Reports to :

Workforce Development Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

The Job Coach will facilitate an employability assessment on all participants, which will include preparing a skill set profile, reviewing resumes and one-on-one training/coaching. The Job Coach will set up interviews with potential employers and ensure that the participant is ready for their job interview. Position may facilitate mock interviews with clients in the career development classroom. Required to monitor client work sites and check on clients at least weekly for the first month and monthly thereafter. The Job Coach will work with the participants to get pay stubs when required to document employment retention. The Job Coach will communicate regularly between the participant and other program staff. The Job Coach will assist employers with WOTC and Federal Bonding paperwork. The Job Coach may be required to administer client drug screen collections. Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or 5+ years direct experience in Job Placement or employment training. Experience working with marginalized or underserved populations preferred. Experience working for a non-profit organization is preferred. Bilingual preferred; able to read, write, and speak English and Spanish proficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration. Excellent documentation skills. Comfortable using computers, running reports, and learning new software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, as well as electronic client records, and staffing software required. Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation. Must be able to clear a Level I Background check through the Department of Corrections. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.

St. Petersburg, Florida The wage range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Operation New Hope, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. We primarily follow the Federal Holiday schedule (paid) and employees are eligible for paid time off after 90 days of employment.
