ABOUT THE ROLE
UniversalMed Supply is looking for a Certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) with knowledge of rehabilitation equipment and wheeled mobility systems. This position will report to the Director of Power Mobility. Performing as an ATP is essential to improving the quality of life of our patients with complex medical conditions through the completion of technical patient assessments, training, and service. As a result, outstanding communication and customer service are required to successfully engage and interact with patients and their clinicians to navigate challenges and determine effective solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide patient mobility evaluations while on site at patient homes or rehab facilities to identify equipment and/or service needs Complete and finalize ATP Assessment Reports based on patient mobility evaluations conducted within a timely manner Assist with educating and communicating appropriate qualifying medical documentation requirements to qualifying practitioners by ensuring patient requirements meet payer specific regulatory requirements Provide timely up to date information on completed accounts and activities to ensure real time account status information is on file Report any concerns related to equipment and/or services provided, when encountered, to prevent challenges downstream Identify opportunities to build upon existing referral relationships or foster new ones to develop deeper referral relationships as opportunities are presented
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to assess and diagnose issues related to rehabilitation wheelchairs mechanically and as it relates to proper patient fit, adjustment, and modification Knowledge on major insurance qualification criteria/requirements related to complex rehabilitation wheelchairs and accessories Ability to work independently, as well as work well with others on a team with common goals/objectives Effectively communicate with clinicians, patients, and colleagues Provide excellent service to patients and practitioners Ability to travel up to 75%
REQUIREMENTS RESNA ATP
Certification 1-3 years of clinical and/or complex rehab experience preferred Extensive knowledge of Complex Rehab Technology Experience with durable medical equipment, specifically mobility equipment required Experience working with preferred manufacturers (Invacare, Pride, Drive Medical) Able to work with remote technology tools such as tablets and multiple software applications to perform job functions Experience with G Suite preferred UniversalMed Supply is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
