JOB FUNCTION
: The Career Assessment Contractor will be able to effectively gain young adults’ acceptance to complete career assessment and provide a clear and thorough explanation of the assessment results that identify their interests, aptitudes and career orientations. This role will also be expected to train young adults in the tools available to them on the website that they can use to advance their career objectives in the future. Core Responsibilities and Expectations Reviews YO referral with Life Coach and information in ER to understand relevant youth career interests from past and present experience while in YO. Promotes and gains commitment of youth to participate in the Career Assessment (CA) and sends out regular reminders until it is completed. Shares a summary of the Career Assessment results with the Life Coach following completion to prepare for the review with the student. Participates with the life coach in a personalized review of Career Assessment results with the youth participant in a virtual meeting to explain the findings in the assessment that focus on their interests and aptitudes that contribute to the strongest career possibilities. Leads a discussion of the results to understand the young adult’s interest in the findings. Instructs the youth how to access Career Assessment and many tools on YouScience Platform to advance their career goals such as wages associated with a career choice, how to build a resume, etc. Responds to questions with examples and seeks to incorporate the findings to create next steps. Builds the competency of young adults participating to ensure they have a strong understanding of the CA tool and the ability to access it in their future career exploration. Serves as a consultant to the YO staff on any questions related to Career Assessment tool and needs among participants and future career exploration. Enters Career Assessment results into database ER (Extended Reach) as well as any specific recommendations on each youth with regard to personalized review, findings, future career options and feedback. Instructs the youth on how to access other tools and career exploration resources online or identify next steps to achieve the career of their choice. This position may require work on nights and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of education, behavioral or social sciences, social work, guidance counseling, psychology childhood education, special education or related field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field.

Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information. Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.
