Job Description
IOP Counselor 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 446 North 12th Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 This position is based on the expectation that an IOP group (10 participants) will meet three evenings per week at O’Brien House. The individual will also occasionally perform ASI’s. The individual will work with the Coordinator of Outpatient Services to improve services and prepare for accreditation. The individual may perform community outreach to develop referrals for outpatient programs. The IOP Coordinator will assist by managing logistics and records for the IOP Counselor. Education/Experience Minimum Requirements Must have qualifying credentials as stated in licensing standards and at least (1) year of work experience in the field of addiction or have passed proficiency exam. License may include
LAC, CAC, RAC, LPC
(LPC Provisional under supervision) or LMSW (under supervision). Documentation of License must be provided to O’Brien House.
Job Duties:
Conduct Intake interviews/ASIs for new IOP clients. Conduct IOP groups at O’Brien House three times per week. Work with Coordinator of Outpatient Services to address common concerns, improve service delivery, prepare for accreditation, and cultivate referrals. Conduct individual and group counseling as needed. Plan discharges, referrals and release of information as deemed appropriate. Update and review assigned client charts as least every (30) days, more often if needed. In addition to the standard chart forms, Counselors are responsible for entering all Medicaid, and/or Encounter Works data properly and in a timely manner. Conduct all Medicaid Pre-Authorizations and Re-Authorizations for services provided. Bring to the attention of the immediate supervisor any problems concerning staff, co-workers or clients. Attend monthly in-service trainings & staff meetings. Other duties assigned by Executive Director, Assist Director, Clinical Director and immediate supervisor.
