The Massachusetts Inclusive Post Secondary Education (MAIPSE) is through the MA Office Of Higher Education. It is a grant funded program for students 18-26 years who have had special education services in high school. There are fifteen state-wide initiatives providing access to students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Salem State University’s MAIPSE initiative is the Community of Inclusive Scholars (CIS). Students in the CIS program share the same experiences as their college peers in the areas of academics, socialization, professional development, employers/internship sites, and independent living. Students become more independent and actively engaged in creating and living their lives. The Executive Functioning (EF) Coach plays a vital role in the success of a student participating in the Salem State CIS program. The CIS EF Coach provides individualized, inclusive support to college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder enrolled in inclusive postsecondary education programs at Salem State University. The coach facilitates student engagement in academic, social, and professional experiences, with the goal of promoting independence, self-advocacy, and successful transition to employment or further education. Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist students with organization of schedule
Encourage appropriate college behavior.
Foster student independence
Assist students in accessing campus resources.
Assist the students in travel training.
Assist students with their internships on campus and in the local community.
Review and encourage the use of educational accommodations for those students’ taking courses for credit and/or work with MAICEI staff to implement curriculum adaptations for course requirements for audit status
Strategize with the student on how to communicate with faculty regarding educational plans attendance and fulfillment of credit or added audit status
Support students who are living on campus i.e., access activities, time management, engaging with peers
Perform other duties for the program, including administrative, educational, and marketing tasks.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and take initiative
Availability to work flexible hours based on student schedules and campus events

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Ability and interest in working with neurodiverse students
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate positively
