SUMMARY LEAP

for Education is recruiting for a new Teen Center Associate for our Lynn site. Reporting to the Teen Center Coordinator, the Teen Center Associate plays a key role in ensuring that high school students engage in career exploration, leadership development, and hands-on learning experiences within the Teen Center. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, structured, and engaging after-school environment , ensuring that programming is responsive to student interests while fostering career readiness and personal growth . The Teen Center Associate directly supports students, assists in program facilitation, and ensures that Teen Center logistics—including transportation and meal coordination—run smoothly . This position also helps with student recruitment and retention efforts, community outreach, and collaboration with volunteers to maximize program impact. Additionally, the Teen Center Associate supports administrative tasks , ensuring that program logistics, materials, and family communication are well-managed . ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Student & Program Support Create and maintain a welcoming, safe, and opportunity-driven environment for students in the Teen Center. Assist in facilitating career exploration activities, leadership development sessions, and work-based learning opportunities . Support the implementation of career readiness workshops, industry guest speaker sessions, networking events, and hands-on skill-building activities . Develop relationships with students, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and connected to career exploration resources . Support the Teen Center’s student leadership initiatives , ensuring that students play an active role in shaping programming and decision-making . Assist in developing and facilitating peer-led learning opportunities, student-driven career discussions, and leadership development programs . Support student recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring the Teen Center remains accessible and engaging for a diverse student population . Logistics & Administrative Support Oversee daily transportation and meal logistics , ensuring that taxi services, bus coordination, and food distribution run smoothly. Track student attendance and engagement , ensuring accurate record-keeping. Assist in training and supporting short-term staff, volunteers, and interns , ensuring they are equipped to engage students in meaningful career exploration activities . Organize and maintain program materials, schedules, and student participation records to ensure efficient operations. Help with outreach to students and families , ensuring they are informed about programming, transportation options, and other logistics. Build relationships with families to enhance student engagement and career-connected learning opportunities .

SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 1-2

years work experience in education, youth development, workforce development, counseling, or a related field Experience working with high school and post-secondary students, particularly those from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a passion for mentorship and student success. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Google Suite

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

This is a full-time (30 hour) professional position based in Lynn, MA. Primarily in-person at the Teen Center, with limited opportunities for hybrid/virtual work. May include occasional evening or weekend events, which are pre-scheduled in advance.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

Work Environment and Hazards Normal office working environment with occasional remote work if/as desired and arranged; generally free from noise and hazards with occasional exposure to heat and cold. This position has limited exposure to hazards that require the exercise of caution with little likelihood of injury. Physical Demands/Efforts A desk-based position with occasional need to lift objects up to 25 lbs. (e.g. for events) Travel Minimal, occasional local travel involved; less than 25% travel is required.
