Career and Technical EducationDirector Responsibilities:
Assist the culinary instructors in teachingthe Massachusetts Culinary Frameworks, adapting to different learningstyles and student backgrounds. Support the development of occupationalskills and knowledge to help students become competent in the culinaryfield. Aid in the preparation, instruction, shop work, and clean-upactivities within the allotted class time. Maintain accurate records ofstudent grades, attendance, and discipline. Demonstrate the use ofoccupational materials, equipment, and processes using standard models,mock-ups, sketches, and other instructional aides. Guide students inselecting and performing appropriate activities to attain requiredcompetencies. Provide individual and group assistance tailored to theneeds of the students and the requirements of the activities beingperformed. Mentor students on the importance of postsecondary education,training, and a strong work ethic. Collaborate with the CTE Director andCo-op coordinator to ensure students have work-based experiences,including co-ops. Instruct students on appropriate safety precautionsand the safe operation and use of instruments and equipment. Assist incontrolling the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and propertyto prevent loss or abuse. Help establish and maintain standards ofstudent conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment.
Communicate with employers, parents, and school counselors regardingindividual student progress. Assist in evaluating student performance,knowledge, and skills in the course, and prepare progress reports.
Operational Support:
Assist in the daily operation of the student-runrestaurant, ensuring smooth workflow and quality service. Make supplyruns as needed to maintain adequate inventory for classroom andrestaurant needs. Support the planning and execution of special events,collaborating with culinary instructors and other staff.
ProfessionalDevelopment:
This position could be a stepping stone towards becoming alicensed Chapter 74 Culinary Instructor for individuals with industryexperience. We will assist in working towards licensure. Provides anopportunity to transition from the industry to a teaching role, withpotential career growth in education.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevantexperience in the culinary arts field, preferably in an educational orinstructional setting. Current certification in food sanitationpreferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability towork effectively with diverse student populations. Strong written andverbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills. Experience in anurban setting preferred. Bilingual applicants (Spanish) stronglyencouraged to apply.
