6721 Job Description Aspire Health Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ACCS Recovery Coach to join our multidisciplinary team on a full-time, regular/at-will basis. Located at 1501 Washington Street, this role is pivotal in providing rehabilitation and support services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses, with a particular focus on substance use recovery. The Recovery Coach will work under the clinical supervision of professionally degreed staff and will be instrumental in assisting clients with their treatment, offering education and support to families, and performing crisis interventions. A key aspect of this role involves utilizing personal recovery experiences to offer peer counseling and support, thereby validating clients’ experiences and encouraging active participation in their own recovery journey. The Recovery Coach will also provide expertise and consultation from a mental health/substance use consumer perspective to the entire team, helping to ensure that clients’ voices are heard and respected in their treatment plans. The role includes collaborating with the team to combat stigma associated with mental illness, promoting client self-determination, and increasing awareness of consumer self-help programs. Organizing and leading social and recreational activities will also be a significant responsibility, as it helps clients structure their time and practice social skills. Travel is expected up to 25% of the time, and the position does not offer per diem. Ability to establish supportive and trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment.
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
Skills in providing peer counseling and support based on personal recovery experiences.
Ability to provide education and support to families of clients.
Competence in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with or sensitivity to multicultural populations is preferred.
Bilingual skills are preferred.
Ability to organize and lead individual and group social and recreational activities. Required Experience
May have related training such as certified occupational therapy assistant, home health care aide, or similar fields.
Work experience in areas such as teaching, counseling, or other roles that involve supporting individuals with disabilities.
A strong commitment to the rights and abilities of individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses to live in community settings, work in market jobs, and have access to continuous support services.
Personal experience with recovery from psychiatric disabilities is highly valued.
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required.
Peer Specialist Certification is preferred.
