Job Description

Qualifications:

Appropriate DESE or Commonwealth of Massachusetts license as per appropriate SSEC program. Experience working with students in a school setting with academic, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, learning or developmental disabilities or autism preferred. Must be able and willing to physically restrain and/or lift students.

School year (183 days includes 3 professional days)
Reports to:
Program Director/Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in intake interviews of students/residential referrals.
2. Provide evaluation of student behavior where appropriate and requested. Which may include formal or informal assessments.
3. Provide individual counseling of students.
4. Provide group counseling of students.
5. Provide family consultation.
6. Collaborate with community based service providers as needed.
7. Provide support in identifying community based resources.
8. Participate in IEP meetings.
9. Develop data driven goals and objectives for student IEP and complete progress reports based on data collection.
10. Complete paperwork for all insurance/Medicaid reimbursement and state license requirements as necessary.
11. Use de-escalation, protective measures, and physical management techniques (including lifting and moving) as prescribed in SSEC approved physical management training programs when appropriate with students.
12. Follows all policies and procedures as established by the South Shore Educational Collaborative.
13. Participate in all required in-service training
14. Maintain confidentiality regarding information for all SSEC staff, students and their families.
15. Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the program director/coordinator.
Mandatory participation in all of the following SSEC sponsored trainings including but not limited to:
1.Successful completion of SSEC approved restraint trainings. full and/or recertification annually as appropriate.
2.Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.
3.Successful completion of all SSEC approved threat assessment training.
4. Successful completion of required training hours for 7D licensure if requested by the program director/coordinator
