Eliot is seeking empathetic Peer Specialists to join our Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC) program serving as a single entry point for mental health and substance use services for youth, families and adults.
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will draw on your own lived experience to support individuals in the program, utilizing knowledge of community resources, recovery supports, and practical coping strategies. You will work collaboratively to empower and advocate for clients, promoting increased independence and supporting their recovery journey.
Responsibilities:
Empower individuals to make autonomous decisions and build self-advocacy skills
Provide peer support and guidance throughout the recovery process Support clients in identifying personal recovery strategies and developing self-management plans
Promote hope and resilience through regular meetings, encouragement, and strength-based support
Deliver side-by-side interventions focused on problem-solving, skills training, behavioral modeling, and motivation
Qualifications:
Requires a High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with adults with severe mental illness
Lived experience and strong commitment to recovery
Valid Massachusetts Drivers License
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Peer Specialist certification a plus
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
