Are you someone with lived experience of mental health recovery who wants to help others on their journey? AMHC is seeking a compassionate and motivated full-time (40 hours per/week) Adult Peer Support Specialist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This role utilizes lived experience with mental health challenges to support others navigating their recovery journeys. The Peer Support Specialist fosters empowerment, advocacy, and connection through one-on-one and group interactions, modeling recovery-oriented skills and encouraging hope.

Requirements:
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be an individual who is receiving or has received services and supports related to the diagnosis of a mental illness, is in recovery from that illness, and is willing to self-identify. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Upon hire, must work to obtain the Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist Certification (CIPSS) pre-training within the first 30 days of hire and be fully certified within 9 months of the date of hire. Full certification must be maintained throughout employment as an Adult Peer Support Specialist (Mental Health).
