Job Description
Position Summary:
The Business Services is a key team member of the Job Center, responsible for developing and maintaining employer partnerships, matching participants to jobs and internships, and supporting their transition into long-term employment or post-secondary education. This position focuses on building relationships with employers, supporting workforce development, and connecting businesses with qualified job seekers. This role is to be also responsible for identifying employer needs, promoting Job Center services, and matching employers with qualified job seekers. The representative supports local workforce development initiatives by fostering strong partnerships and helping businesses meet their hiring and training goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Employer Engagement and Placement
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to assess hiring needs and promote Job Center services
- Conduct employer outreach through site visits, phone calls, and networking events
- Assist employers with job postings, labor market information, recruitment assistance, and referrals
- Organize and support hiring events, job fairs, and employer-led workshops
- Coordinate with workforce programs (WIOA, Vocational Rehabilitation, Veterans Services, etc.) to connect job seekers to employer opportunities
- Track employer services activities in the appropriate case management or CRM system
- Provide follow-up services to ensure satisfaction and identify additional business needs
- Support employers in accessing training programs, tax credits, and workforce incentives
- Collaborate with community partners and economic development agencies
- Stay current on regional labor market trends and workforce initiatives
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with employers to create job, apprenticeship, and internship opportunities aligned with participants’ career interests and training
- Market participants to employers through calls, visits, and presentations
- Coordinate job placement, work-based learning, and career exploration activities
- Match participants with appropriate job opportunities based on their skills, training, and goals
- Conduct job readiness assessments and collaborate with case managers and instructors to address participant needs.
Participant Support
- Provide individualized job coaching, resume assistance, mock interviews, and job search support
- Track participant progress and employment outcomes, offering retention services for at least 12 months post-placement
- Conduct job site visits and maintain ongoing communication with both participants and employers to support success and address issues.
Data and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, job placements, and participant outcomes
- Prepare reports for funders and internal stakeholders as required
- Use case management and database systems to track data.
Program Collaboration
- Work closely with employers, case managers, training providers, academic instructors, and leadership development staff to ensure holistic support for participants
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and community outreach efforts
- Support special events such as job fairs, career days, or alumni engagement activities.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
Associates or bachelors degree in Workforce Development, Human Services, Business, Education, or related field.
