Career Advisor The Career Advisor is responsible for: 1) Establishing and maintaining employer relationships for the purposes of obtaining job leads and placements; 2) Identifying qualified candidates for placement; 3) Advising clients preparing for entry into the job market; and 4) Documenting necessary data for tracking and reporting purposes.

Nonexempt, Full-time Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Utilizing in-depth knowledge of the job market, provide individual counseling services to clients focusing on employment opportunities, job search, and career development. Meet regularly with clients to review and update their Individual Employment Plan (IEP), assess skills and expertise, and provide support and guidance during the job search process. Create and edit client resumes; advise clients on applications, interview process, and career development. Coordinate work orders or job placement requests generated by the Account Management team; matching job seekers experiences, skills and abilities with work orders. Monitor and ensure that all program graduates secure an initial job placement after successfully completing FSC’s RF and other workforce projects or initiatives as assigned. Maintenance and accuracy of participants’ employment information in Apricot Work closely with Social Workers, Case Managers and Facilitators to communicate client barriers to securing or maintaining employment. Communicate with Employment Retention Specialist to provide information critical to recording retention data and providing follow-up retention services to support continued and stable employment. Work with the Coordinator of Employment Placement/Workforce Development to coordinate resources for continuing education and training that leads to career advancement. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have superior technology skills to include Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Apricot, Social Solutions or ETO a plus. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be resilient and tenacious with a high level of personal integrity and passion for FSC’s mission Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals Must be familiar with MS Office Suite Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Must have an Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences strongly preferred. 2-3 years of experience in workforce development or related field. Years of experience may substitute for education requirement. Must have experience working with disadvantaged individuals.
Other:
Must possess a valid Missouri Driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle for transportation.
