This position is for a Construction Management Technology Instructor at the Harrison County Campus with an educational institution in Gulfport, MS.
Job Description:
Responsible for the teaching of assigned CTE construction management courses at assigned times and sites as well as the other duties and responsibilities inherent in this position. Reports to the Chairperson of the School of Manufacturing, Maritime, and Transportation at the Harrison County Campus.
Job Duties:
1. Teach assigned subject matter with professionalism and uphold college values.2. Meet classes according to the schedule.3. Attend faculty/departmental meetings as requested.4. Follow exam schedules unless otherwise approved.5. Provide access to students for advising, conferences, and tutorial help.6. Advise students as needed.7. Maintain accurate student records and submit reports timely.8. Use instructional support services (e.g., Learning Resources Centers).9. Conduct course evaluations per college procedures.10. Ensure instructional consistency with college and departmental standards.11. Contribute to college goals, course objectives, and student achievement.12. Act as a public representative for the community college.13. Supervise or participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.14. Evaluate student progress adequately.15. Participate in college governance councils as assigned.16. Serve on academic/instructional committees as assigned.17. Carry out other duties as assigned by the department or administration.18. Teach a full range of courses in construction management technology, including courses covering, but not limited to, materials, safety, project scheduling, estimating, and site management.19. Deliver instruction using hands-on, lab-based, hybrid, and online modalities to meet diverse learning needs.20. Maintain active relationships with construction industry employers and professionals to ensure program relevance.21. Facilitate student internships, job placement opportunities, and industry certifications.22. Support student recruitment and retention efforts through outreach and engagement initiatives.23. 24. Maintain current knowledge of construction management trends, tools, and regulations.
Mandatory Qualifications:
(M1) Associate degree in construction management technology or related field. (M2) Five or more years of work experience in the construction field. (M3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. (M4) Experience with Computer-Aided Design. (CAD). (M5) Project management experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
(D1) Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction management or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. (D2) Teaching experience. (D3) Learning management software (LMS) experience (Canvas preferred). (D4) NCCER Core certification.
