QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 48 semester hours or associate’s degree in any discipline plus bus driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so.

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands the jobs for which students are engaged. Conducts a task analysis of skills required for a particular job(s). Trains and coach the disabled student to meet job employer standards established. Collaborates with teacher as student skills are mastered concerning student progress toward transition goals. Completes evaluation forms on each student for each job site to share with teacher. Collects data to monitor acquisition of job skills and document job training hours. Collaborates with teacher to resolve obstacles to student work performance, e.g., social interaction conflicts, transportation and changes in the job. Participates in transition team meetings for the purpose of providing input on student progress toward Individual Transition Program goals. Transports students, as required, via school system Transportation Program. Obtains and maintains CDL bus license. Completes the pre-trip and post-trip inspection. Drives a bus when called upon to do so while maintaining proficiency in driving skills. Maintains bus route schedule. Maintains discipline and reports undisciplined students to school administration. Discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students. Complies with local and state traffic regulations and observes all mandatory safety regulations. Reports delays and accidents. Cleans the interior of the bus. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairnes. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Possess the visual acuity to work with data and figures, operate a computer, do extensive reading and prepare and present written and oral reports and statistical data. Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License. Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus. REV 04/25
