August 11, 2025 Position Summary AIG Specialist will provide gifted education services to designated middle schools, including monitoring of student information verification, rendering testing services, and utilizing current strategies and theories to plan, organize, and implement instructional strategies for gifted and talented students. Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Education and/or related field from an accredited institution required. Master’s, Specialist, or Doctoral Degree in Education, Educational Leadership and/or in a related field from an accredited institution preferred. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. AIG Specialist Experience preferred Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Hoke County Schools required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

North Carolina Teaching License in the area of service with AIG certification

WORK EXPERIENCE

: 3 years of successful experience teaching gifted students required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and collaboratively with others in project planning and delivery. Excellent presentation, organizational, oral and written skills Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning environments. Knowledge of school safety & security procedures Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Advocates for AIG Students and Hoke County Schools’ AIG Program Ensures compliance in maintaining and updating AIG student folders Consults with teachers and administrators to monitor a rigorous, differentiated curriculum for AIG students Assists in the planning and implementation of assessments for gifted-identified students Serves as support to the referral and identification process of gifted students Provides input into the development of the AIG budget and the selection of appropriate materials Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal policies for gifted education at designated schools Plans collaboratively with teachers of AIG and cluster students Procures and disseminates resource materials appropriate for AIG/cluster students Meets weekly with AIG Facilitators at designated schools Attends AIG conference(s) and shares information attained from conference(s) with AIG cluster teachers and staff at designated schools Monitors the progress of AIG students at designated schools Utilizes Infinite Campus for data collection, creation of reports, and program inventory Accepts additional responsibilities as designated by the Director of AIG & Advanced Services
