Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Financial Assistance and VITA Program Manager, the Financial Assistance Specialist is responsible for implementation of selected aspects of the financial assistance process including working with clients, vendors, and referral partners.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent necessary. At least 2 years of experience providing customer service in a community setting. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel); Previous experience with Adobe preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and demonstrate ability to work with a wide range of constituents and diverse audiences. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with extremely sensitive information. Use compassion and analytical skills to make informed decisions. Must be a team player. Must be process and detail oriented. Must have received or be willing to receive Covid-vaccine by date of hire. If unvaccinated weekly Covid-testing is required.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Assistance Program Respond to inquiries, within a determined timeframe, from community members seeking financial assistance. Support clients as needed in completing the documentation process. Ensure all documentation needed to process requests from community members seeking assistance is collected, reviewed, and combined. Make commitments of payments to vendors as needed. Maintain complete and accurate electronic files of all documentation, response to inquiries, and other functions. Provide referrals to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and/or Lydia’s Loft as needed for clients.
