Closing Date 05/27/2025 JOB GOAL Responsible for managing, monitoring, and providing oversight of parental complaints/issues relative to the choice lottery, student reassignment, and/or student guardianship. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Executes all state reporting, start of school and end of year student information systems (SIS) operations for the district.
Provides short and long-term strategic direction while managing and supporting the work of the student placement team.
Works directly with the process of J-1 and F-1 student status to increase student enrollment in the studying abroad and exchange programs.
Works in close collaboration senior leadership to develop and oversee the long-term strategic direction and annual implementation plans.
Serves as an active member of the Office of Student Assignment & School Choice leadership team, engaging in efforts such as strategy setting, performance management, and team building.
Collaborates with other district departments to effectively serve the needs of programs and students.
Confers with department leadership and other district departments to identify project and process improvement needs and manages strategic planning, project management, and process improvement efforts.
Trains new and current employees on process improvement techniques and collaborates in the development of a district-wide digital training course to ensure understanding of the new online enrollment system.
Provides project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress while utilizing industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the project execution.
Promotes internal and external communication to improve transparency, helps disseminate information, and remove roadblocks.
Creates and implements streamlined customer service procedures to improve specialist production by incorporating technology.
Assists in the development and implementation of best practices for a new online enrollment system.
Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints regarding the choice application/lottery process and student assignment.
Assists with the implementation, as well as some development and planning of the school district’s student assignment plan and policies
Participates in the coordination of department work program activities with other departments, schools, and outside agencies involved in student placement-related activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Direct supervision of assigned personnel. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work: addressing complaints and resolving problems; training employees; evaluating performance; and interviewing, testing, hiring, and assignment of personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & abilities Skilled in process improvement and measurement strategies
Skilled in project management, quality management, and change management strategies
Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range plans
Knowledge of quality management tools such as ISO 9001 and Six Sigma
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance and quality control
Knowledge of district organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
Ability to exercise superior customer service with internal and external customers
Ability to work independently, with little direction exercising good judgment
Ability to read, interpret, explain, and follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with confidential, privileged, and sensitive records, materials, and information
Must perform in an environment that is frequently “high pressure” with tight deadlines and demands from parents and school personnel
Skilled in analytical reporting and establishing performance metrics
Proven leadership, decision-making, and project management skills with the ability to coach a diverse team
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
Operating knowledge of MAC and PC computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders Education, Training & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in education, business administration or related field
5-10 years of work experience in project management, change management, process improvement, quality management
