DEFINITION
Cape Fear Community College is seeking a proactive, student-centered professional to serve as a Boost Academic Advisor. The Boost program is a comprehensive student support initiative designed to increase retention, reduce time-to-degree, and support degree completion through proactive advising, structured support services, and personalized engagement. The Boost Academic Advisor plays a key role in providing holistic advisement to a dedicated caseload of students, ensuring they receive timely and tailored guidance from entry through graduation. This position collaborates with faculty and staff across campus to promote academic progress, address barriers to student success, and support broader student achievement efforts. •This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position. Position ends July 2030 with potential to be extended•

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Deliver comprehensive, holistic advisement to an assigned group of students from enrollment through graduation. Monitor academic progress and track student engagement with support services. Maintain accurate and timely records, including notes, intervention strategies, and referrals to internal or external support programs. Conduct regular proactive outreach through in-person meetings, phone, email, and virtual platforms to support academic momentum and foster accountability. Identify at-risk students and provide targeted interventions and referrals. Support the recruitment and onboarding of new Boost participants. Assist with the organization and delivery of special events and student engagement activities. May lead or support student seminars or workshops on topics relevant to student success. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities. Provide feedback and insights to Boost program leadership on student needs and service improvements.
