- Pamlico County Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled Masonry Teacher to join our exceptional Trades and Industry team.

- Under general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students.
Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and Pamlico County Schools Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of residential and commercial masonry; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, Associates degree or Bachelors degree
- Candidates must have or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator license in the area of Carpentry (74026)Required Years of Work Experience for Alternative Licensure Route
- 6 years with High School Diploma or GED, 4 years with Associates or 2 years with BachelorsDuties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and teach a competency-based CTE program in masonry
- Instruct students in masonry techniques, including bricklaying, stone setting and concrete work, while ensuring safety and preparing them for careers in the construction industry“`{=html}“
- Instruct masonry courses, incorporates appropriate industry-recognized certifications and training, and works toward achieving the high-quality elements of an masonry technician
- Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
- Assist in coordination of CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition
- Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops
- Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative career and technical education program
- Develop community and industry partnerships for studentsSkills and Abilities
