The Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions is currently accepting applications for the Hybrid Veteran Employment Consultant II in Greenville. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, as well as retirement.

$37,782 – $59,035 The position is located in Greenville at the Pitt County NCWorks Career Center, which focuses on providing employment-related services to veterans. This position provides employment related services to multiple counties in the Northeast Prosperity Zone and within two Workforce Development Board areas (Northeastern & Rivers East). This unit aims to support veterans in overcoming Qualified Employment Barriers as listed in VPL (Veterans Program Letter)05-24 and achieving sustainable job placements. The work primarily involves outreach activities through veterans and civic organizations to locate members of the target group. It includes the development of appropriate employment and training opportunities and promotion of the hiring of disabled and other veterans. The work involves case managing and providing intensive career services to veterans. These Hybrid positions will be placed in areas of the state that it is not feasible to have both a Disabled Veteran’s Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialists and the Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER)located there, and these will be the most rural areas of the state. The position will provide tailored career services to eligible veterans, with at least 90% of participants served by a DVOP Specialist using the Case Management approach. It will assist veterans in overcoming barriers to employment by delivering appropriate services, identifying necessary training and supportive services, and providing ongoing support during and after job placements. The position will conduct outreach to locate veterans in the community, strengthen awareness of available services, and engage in targeted networking efforts to Soup kitchens, Shelters, Libraries, Street Corners, Churches, VA clinics and Hospitals, Veterans Service Organizations, Law Enforcement Agencies and other service providers in the community. It will conduct targeted outreach to employers, facilitate job search workshops, and establish job search groups to assist veterans in gaining employment. The position will coordinate with the LVER and business services team to facilitate employment opportunities for veterans. It will train other workforce staff on the roles and responsibilities of the veteran’s staff and priority of service for veterans in the workforce system. This position is supervised by the DWS Manager in Greenville. Necessary Special Requirement:
Related public contact work dealing with veterans or job applicants and employers in a variety of functions. Title 38, United States Code (38 U.S.C.), Section 4103A requires that employees in this class be honorably discharged veterans who have served a minimum of 180 days on active duty in the Armed Forces or were discharged or relieved from active duty because of service-connected disability.
