Job Description
OBJECTIVE
To assist Day Program Supervisor with the development and oversight of community opportunities and related activities. Assists program supervisor in implementing daily schedule and ensures that services follow individual support plans. To provide direction as a role model to program coworkers by maintain professionalism and positivity while providing boundaries and guidance for safe support. To provide the necessary support, supervision, and training to facilitate participant skill acquisition in the areas of socialization, self-help, adaptive skills, communication, health and wellness, community engagement, and/or vocational skills.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Maintain confidentiality + Ensure health, safety, and welfare of all participants. + Provide direct support and training to participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities in small groups or one-on-one in the day program setting or the community settings. + Organize and implement day activity schedule that supports the participant’s definition of a meaningful day in community and day program settings; Ensure that schedule is followed and changes made are documented. + Ensure that DSPs have what materials they need for activities and outings. + Provide service/activity training/coaching for coworkers to ensure knowledge of participant support needs. + Create daily picture/written schedules for participants who need them. + Defer to activities schedule and redirect coworkers to this schedule when needed + Re-direct coworkers to ensure that participant needs are being met. + Intervene in non-crisis group conflicts or individual situations. + Assist individuals to transition from one activity to the next. + Reporting supply needs to management. + Solid working knowledge of service definitions + Ensure medications are administered as scheduled. + Ensure inclusion of all participants in the community opportunity of their choice + Implement technology to enhance learning and communication + Advocate for and with participants in the community setting. + Complete all applicable documentation timely and accurately + Ability to communicate effectively on multiple levels, using verbal, computer and written skills + Ability to demonstrate, teach, and model habilitation skills and interpersonal skills + Ability to recognize emergency situations and implement appropriate procedures; Ensure service recipients’ safety + Maintain current certifications and training as required by TVS. + Ability to balance support for the service recipients stated choices against core responsibilities, limitations of the service recipients and potential risk. + Provide transportation to participants as needed. + Demonstrate a respectful, professional, and cooperative relationship with participants and their families/ caregiver/guardians. + Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions, and possess basic math skills + Has physical ability to stoop, bend, twist, reach, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds stand for an entire shift, mobility to get in and out of vehicles and assist service recipients in doing so, work in various weather conditions This job description outlines the essential requirements for job fulfillment; however, it is not intended to be all inclusive. QUALIFICATIONS
+ Minimum High School diploma/GED from an accredited school and recognized by North Carolina as applicable + Minimum 18 years of age + Valid Driver’s License from any state /
Note:
A valid NC Driver’s License must be acquired within 60 days of hire if residing in North Carolina + Proof of personal automobile insurance including company name and policy number + Acceptable background, motor vehicle record, and sex offender registry check, negative drug test, and no findings on the NC Health Care Registry. + Experience with adults with developmental disabilities Department Programs Employment Type Full-Time Minimum Experience Mid-level Compensation Based on Experience
