Provide strategic leadership by fostering partnerships with employers across diverse industries. Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, faculty, and campus departments to align recruiting strategies with institutional goals and student career aspirations. Organize impactful career programs and events, deliver professional development programming, and counsel students and alumnae/i in career planning. Additionally, ensure continuous improvement through data analysis, assessment, and staying abreast of industry trends, contributing to the overall success of career planning initiatives and positive graduate outcomes.
Duties:
Employer Engagement and Relationship Building (40%)
- Provide leadership for employer development; develop and maintain relationships with employers across various industries to promote employment and internship opportunities for students; offer support and guidance on recruiting strategies that align with College goals and the Meredith student population.
- Conduct outreach to new employers, expanding the College’s network and opportunities for students.
- Identify and implement innovative strategies to engage new employers and industries relevant to students’ academic and career goals.
- Attend professional workshops and conferences for training, workforce trends and updates, networking and professional development purposes on behalf of the College, students, and alumnae/i.
- Increase employer engagement via Handshake to elevate relevant opportunities to current Meredith College students and alumnae/i.
Collaboration and Outreach (30%) - Build partnerships and collaborate with faculty and campus departments in providing career related programming, relevant career and employment insights, graduate outcome information, and resources specifically by major.
- Conduct class presentations and workshops to educate students on career and professional development topics.
- Lead strategy for collecting, interpreting, and communicating/visualizing relevant data collected by OCP; sharing with internal campus partners, administrative leadership, and other constituencies.
- Manage and facilitate the Career Champions Program for faculty/staff.
Student Engagement (25%) - Counsel and coach students and alumnae/i on career development and job search strategies.
- Facilitate employer-student connections through formal and informal networking activities.
Event Planning, Management, and Marketing (5%) - Develop a calendar of recruiting programs such as career fairs, networking events, Mock Interview Week, Employer Resume Blitz, career treks, and information sessions for each semester and academic year.
- Direct the marketing strategy for the Office of Career Planning.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related area is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in counseling or educating students.
- Highly motivated, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented with exceptionally strong counseling skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others; takes initiative and follows through on projects.
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge and comfort with Google applications, Handshake (or other recruiting platforms), Canva, social media platforms, is preferred.
