College and Career Navigator Campus Compact for New Hampshire Somersworth, NH 03878 • Hybrid work Who We Are Education Alliance for New Hampshire (EANH) is a nonprofit organization driven by a shared commitment from New Hampshire’s colleges and universities to make a meaningful, statewide impact. Our mission is to improve educational outcomes for students across the Granite State by fostering collaborative partnerships across the P-20 spectrum. We work closely with K-12 schools, higher education institutions, community organizations, and businesses to help students achieve their full potential. The Opportunity EANH is seeking a College and Career Navigator to support our GEAR UP New Hampshire program in Somersworth . This federally funded role is essential in helping students and families navigate the path from middle school to postsecondary success. The College and Career Navigator will follow a cohort of students beginning in 6th or 7th grade through high school graduation, offering direct support, guidance, and exposure to college and career pathways. This is a mission-driven role ideal for someone passionate about youth development, postsecondary access, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Deliver college and career readiness programming in school settings by embedding college planning resources into classroom instruction. Provide ongoing, individualized support to a cohort of students; monitor academic data and intervene as needed to support success. Lead small group sessions to support development of social-emotional and executive functioning skills such as time management and organization. Coordinate and share program timelines and calendars with school staff and families. Organize and lead in-school and out-of-school programming such as college visits, job shadowing, mentoring opportunities, leadership activities, and access-focused events. Develop and implement caregiver engagement strategies, including outreach on college costs, planning tools, and financial literacy. Meet with students and families to build individualized postsecondary plans. Collaborate with school staff and community stakeholders to support the NH State Scholars program and broader GEAR UP goals. Facilitate partnerships between middle/high schools and local colleges or universities. Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings provided through GEAR UP. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Deep understanding of and commitment to the mission of GEAR UP and EANH. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with students, caregivers, and community partners. Enthusiasm for postsecondary access and the success of first-generation and underrepresented students. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. Proficiency in computer applications and virtual collaboration tools. Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, school-based setting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Experience working in or with schools, particularly with students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Familiarity with strategies for college readiness, such as: Increasing attendance Family and caregiver engagement Mentoring and youth leadership Financial aid awareness and FAFSA support Career pathways and postsecondary options Experience facilitating group instruction, mentoring, or youth development programming.
