We know that truly preparing students for collegeand career requires an intense focus on student GPAs and ACTresults, experiential learning opportunities such as summerprograms and dual enrollment courses, excellent college & careercounseling, and strong relationships with and programming forstudents and their families. The Associate Director of CareerExposure’s job is to ensure that all students have meaningful,quality experiential learning opportunities throughout high school.

The AD of CE, in collaboration with school and regional leaders,builds and maintains strong partnerships with local organizationsand programs, leveraging the cultural capital of the community, andembed partnerships and critical learning experiences in CareerAcademies within the school. The AD of CE will develop and worktoward intentional milestones and experiences by grade level, suchas career and college fairs, shadow days and interview prepworkshops, as well as ensuring students have individualizedexperiences at career sites, colleges and programs (i.e.internships, college dual enrollment and career dual enrollment)Heres what youll be doing: Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesContribute and provide direct implementation support of theschool’s Career Academies and Career Courses, ensuring strongacademic experiences for students, robust and aligned partnershipswith community organizations, smooth logistics for exposures andexperiential learning, and school-wide training and awareness ofthe Academy’s role within the school. Expand develop and maintainschool-specific partnerships for internships, volunteeropportunities, CTE dual enrollment, career mentors and jobshadowing. Support students in learning about and enrolling inexperiential learning opportunities and dual enrollment programs,and support them toward completion through direct student advising,parent engagement and partner management. Plan for and executeschool-wide career exposure and prep experiences, such as fairs,workshops, and speaker series. Invest and work with other keystakeholders to invest students, staff and families in criticalevents.

Maintain robust data reporting:

Consistently enter datainto a system to progress monitor and analyze student participationand enrollment in experiential learning opportunities. CriticalOutcomes Students attend college and career exposure events,including fairs, trips, shadow days, and workshops Studentsparticipate in an internship, pre-college program, in-house CTEprogram or other experiential learning program during the summer orschool year Students note an increased awareness of postsecondaryoptions that align with their interests and values from beginningof year to end of year Students who enroll in CTE dual enrollmentcourses complete the course and earn a career certification, ifapplicable Student who are enrolled in the Academies pass theirclasses As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the positionholder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadlyin line with the above essential duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications Must Haves:

Demonstrated experience working withtraditionally under-served students and their families from diversesocioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds Project managementexperience Instructional or advising experience, preferably in ahigh school setting focused on college & career readinesscurriculum, with a track record of strong outcomes for studentsSkills Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google SuiteExperience with Salesforce, PowerSchool, Naviance, Overgrad orsimilar-type student database systems Strong written and oralcommunication skills Strong interpersonal skills Strongorganization skills and meticulous attention to detail Superbcustomer service skills and love and support for families andstudents Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Adeptat data analysis and strong content knowledge; ability to extractmeaningful insights and actions from data
