Full Job Description Now Hiring:
Independent Living / Community Resource Specialist Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-4:30 PM | Based in Mercer County, NJ Are you passionate about empowering others and creating inclusive spaces for people with disabilities? Do you enjoy mentoring, planning events, and helping individuals access the resources they need to live independently? If so, the Progressive Center for Independent Living (PCIL) wants you on our team. We’re hiring a dedicated Independent Living / Community Resource Specialist who is ready to make a direct impact by working with adults with disabilities, facilitating peer groups, and helping coordinate fun, meaningful recreation events.
What You’ll Do:
Provide one-on-one independent living support to adults with disabilities Serve as a mentor and group facilitator for our peer support group, Life Through Different Lenses Assist with planning, promoting, and attending community-based recreation events Help individuals access local resources, public programs, and services that support independent living Maintain clear, timely documentation of services and consumer progress
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required) Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus Self-starter who’s eager, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Strong people skills, patience, and a genuine commitment to inclusion and accessibility
