About Our Program:
Easterseals, a national nonprofit, has supported individuals with disabilities for over 50 years. Its Mental Health Residential Services delivers self-maintenance, medication education, and/or skill development for people with serious mental illness.
What You’ll Do:
The Residential Counselor provides personalized support to consumers by assisting with personal care goals, coordinating services, ensuring compliance with AMHRS standards, responding to concerns, educating on medications, facilitating transportation, maintaining accurate records, and delivering high-quality care in line with IRPs.
Key responsibilities include:
Support consumers in achieving personal care goals and addressing ongoing challenges.
Educate consumers on medications, track logs, and conduct monthly audits.
Coordinate services based on individual needs.
Transports consumers using the company van as needed.
Deliver high-quality care in line with Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP).
Accurately document services within required timeframes using electronic health records.
Who You Are:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1 year of previous experience in direct care or related field.
Requirements:
Possess a valid driver’s license & acceptable driving record.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
