Summary:
Under the supervision of the Migrant Relocation Assistance Program (MRAP) Director, the Migrant Services Coordinator (MSC) is responsible for supervising assigned staff, outreach, maintaining files, records, and reports related to the migrant families who have relocated from NYC to hotels in Albany County including any surrounding hotels in the Capital Region housing migrant families. This position holds a relatively high degree of independence within the framework of the department’s standard operating procedures. The individual must display initiative, creativity, organization, and computer skills.
Essential Functions:
Participate in the welcoming of the families being bused from NYC to Albany County, and surrounding hotels in the Capital Region as needed. Outreach and engage migrant families located in Albany County, and surrounding hotels in the Capital Region. Develop trusting relationships with the team, DocGo staff, and migrant families placed in Albany County, and the surrounding hotels in the Capital Region. The Migrant Services Coordinator will work closely with community agencies, and internal programs to meet the needs of the migrant families. Develop materials to distribute to migrant families. Maintain accurate records of migrant outreach events, activities, and distribution of information. Maintains accurate/updated client files with mandated documentation and as mentioned in policies & procedures, includes accurate data input and data cleanup. Coordinate events and activities with the MRAP Director and DocGo as required. Organize and assist information sessions as specified by the MRAP Director or designee. Ensures accurate data input of services provided on assigned database. Prepare statistical and narrative reports as required by the director or funders. Participate in the development of proposals, program planning, and new initiatives. Monitors programs to ensure compliance with contract provisions. Participates in community activities as assigned. conduct supervision meetings with assigned staff, assist with team meetings, and supports staff development training. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Coordinates hotline coverage and assists as needed. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or delegates.

Skills and Abilities:
Associate’s degree in Human Service. Work or related field. A minimum of two years of experience engaging in community-based services. Experience working with the migrant population is preferred. Experience working with community human services providers. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. (Other languages accepted) Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and proeficient knwoledge of Excel Valid NYS Driver’s license and able to provide own transportation and travel to various locations. An equivalent combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be considered.
