WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A JOB COACH

A job coach provides supports through volunteering in our community to provide individuals with informed choices regarding employment. Activities may include job exploration, resume and cover letter assistance, touring employers, job shadowing, information interviews, job tryouts, volunteering, travel training, computer skills training, employment skills training such as listening, interacting with coworkers and similar skills.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A JOB COACH

To excel as a Job Coach at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler in Elmira, you must possess essential skills such as strong time management abilities to effectively juggle multiple tasks, excellent communication skills to interact with individuals, as well as exceptional customer service skills to provide top-notch support. Flexibility is key in adapting to individuals’ needs and various job environments working primarily Mon-Friday day shift with occasional weekends and evenings as needed. Additionally, a high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a clean and valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to different job sites with paid mileage.
