Job Description
Supported Employment Counselor 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 1650 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 Are you passionate about getting people back to work? Our Supported Employment Counselors will have the opportunity to instruct, assist and support individuals with disabilities to explore the current job market. Counselors will assist individuals in achieving their goals of finding and maintaining a job they want to keep. Counselors will be able to build new and existing relationships with local business and provide adults individualized on-site training and support. If you have experience providing employment-related services; have an excitement in supporting individuals’ growth in their vocational goals; and encouraging opportunities for individuals with disabilities to be contributing members in this community…you are the creative and innovative Counselor that Starbridge is looking for!
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least a High School diploma and experience supporting individuals with disabilities required. Associate’s Degree preferred. At least 2 years experience in a Job Coach or Job Developer role required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid New York State driver’s license and a registered, insured vehicle with a suitable driving record. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Attention to detail. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. Multi tasks and manages priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and the Internet.
