Job Description
CANS Assessor – I/DD Assessments 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars New York State CANS Assessor – Seeking college graduates with 1+ years experience working with developmentally disabled children. This is a hybrid position with both in person and telehealth assessments. Our client is seeking I/DD experienced candidates to conduct CANS (Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths) Assessments for individuals under the age of 18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/DD). This role requires travel within an assigned region.
Current Coverage Areas Needed:
Hudson Valley Long Island Erie/Niagara Albany, Montgomery, Saratoga, Hamilton Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Steuben, Allegany Compensation & Benefits:
$26.00 – $28.00 per hour Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401k + match Four (4) weeks of paid training (virtual & in-person)
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate assessments with individuals, caregivers, and primary support persons. Conduct assessments via telehealth or in person at a location and time that best accommodates the individual and their support system. Maintain flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including some evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals (under the age of 18) with developmental disabilities (IDD/DD). Familiarity with terms and conditions such as Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other neurological impairments . Valid NYS Driver’s License and willingness to travel within the assigned region. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must reside in New York State.
