As an Employment Specialist you will assist individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities succeed in obtaining employment and provide assistance/supervision to the people we support at various work sites. A wide variety of tasks with different experiences each day. One week paid orientation followed by a week of shadowing a supervisor. In addition there are 4 days – 6 hours each day of online training courses specifically related to your job duties.

Responsibilities:

Provide support, training and supervision to people with Intellectual/developmental disabilities employed in community-based jobs as well as other employment services that are community based. Transport people supported as needed Evaluate, train and supervise people supported for appropriate and timely performance of assigned tasks at work site Make sound, independent decisions to resolve crisis situations and access community resources as necessary to insure safety, welfare and physical/emotional well-being of the people supported.

Employment Specialist Qualifications:

All positions require a valid, clean NYS driver’s license with a minimum of one year driving experience with a Class D license.
