Program:

Our workforce development initiatives are designed to support adults who have been out of the workforce or who experience barriers to employment to find and maintain stable, higher than entry-level positions in the food service industry. We provide wraparound services for our students from case management, life skills classes, and referrals for supplemental services to transportation and uniforms.

Position Summary:

The HOPES Navigator plays a critical role in guiding program participants through their journey from initial engagement through program completion and beyond. This position supports recruitment, intake, resource navigation, and long-term retention efforts by working closely with staff, tracking participant progress, and maintaining a strong support network for alumni.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Outreach:

Coordinate with internal teams to support recruitment strategies and track outreach progress.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local recovery programs, reentry organizations, shelters, community centers, probation offices and transitional housing facilities.
  • Attend and present at community events, job fairs, support groups and reentry meetings to promote the program.
  • Distribute marketing materials (flyers, brochures, social media posts) that are accessible and culturally relevant.
  • Conduct one-on-one information sessions and group orientations with potential students.
Interest & Intake Support:
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews and assess eligibility and readiness for program participation.
  • Assist in conducting participant intakes, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Provide guidance and support through the application and enrollment process.
Resource Navigation:
  • Assess participant needs through social determinants screening tools and provide personalized referrals to internal and external services (e.g., housing, employment, healthcare, education).
  • Utilize internal and external resource databases such as Findhelp.org to create an action plan that includes support services for students that addresses health, financial, housing, literacy and personal safety.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive internal Resource Referral Database.
  • Track participant progress through service engagement and follow-up.
Retention & Alumni Services:
  • Conduct regular check-ins and in-person visits to support participant retention.
  • Help develop and maintain a robust alumni services model to support post-program success.
  • Provide planning and support for all students throughout the program to address barriers to successful program completion and job placement.
Administration and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, inquiries, applications and enrollment.
  • Track recruitment outcomes and provide regular reports to program and CKP management and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with external case managers and counselors to ensure wraparound support services for prospective students.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with culinary production and program staff, external resources and the job placement team to ensure alignment in student services.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field with Navigator experience preferred.
  • Experience working with at-risk populations, including individuals in recovery and/or those with justice involvement.
  • Strong community engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in case management, social services, or community outreach preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about local, regional and national support databases and services.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage data tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of national, regional and community resources and referral systems.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Proficiency with database systems, Google Workplace.
Work Environment & Expectations:
  • 100% in-person work, with frequent travel around the area for recruitment purposes.
  • Must be comfortable working in non-traditional settings (e.g., jails, shelters, sober living residences).
  • Some evenings and weekends required.

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
