Apply to be Our Next Student CareerCounselor Today!’ Position Expectations Responsible for providingpersonal/career counseling for students to enhance studentemployability and to ensure continued enrollment and quantifiablesuccess in the Job Corps program. Identifies and remediates studentbarriers to success and develops individualized student careereducational plans. Follows all integrity guidelines and proceduresand ensures no manipulation of student data. Ensures student caseload meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals. Responsible toprovide students with comprehensive and individualized casemanagement ensuring student progress, retention and completion ofthe Job Corps program. Establishes supportive/mentoringrelationships with students throughout their enrollment andprovides personal, educational and career counseling. Providesongoing assessment of student progress in Academics, CareerTechnical and Independent Living. Develops and updates studentPersonal Career Development Plans. Coordinates services forstudents (on-Center and off-Center) to ensure student retention andsuccess in the program. Transports students as needed/required.

Routinely evaluates and documents student performance using casemanagement system. Contributes to the Center’s culture by treatingstudents with care and respect, assisting students achieve personaland career goals and ensuring students feel safe and welcomedduring enrollment Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough,timely and accurate manner. Maintains appropriate personalattendance, accountability and work productivity standards. Plans,prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals anddeadlines. Understands and applies job knowledge to effectivelycomplete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintainsthe skills required to perform job duties. Mentors, monitors andmodels the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.Provides high-quality supervision and management for the studentpopulation. Takes swift and appropriate action and positivelyinfluences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to studentsand holds them accountable for their actions and behavior. Providesquality programs and services for students and ensures that qualityis maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement andenhancement of programs and services. Exchanges ideas andinformation, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concisemanner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offeringrelevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timelyinformation to DOL/Company when requested. Effectively articulatesthoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes andevaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommendingactions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is takenand that problems are in fact corrected. Works in partnership withstaff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision andservices are provided to students. Accepts direction andsupervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/ShiftManager to include assignments to temporarily perform jobresponsibilities of other departments and positions. Serves asActing Counseling/CPP Manager in Counseling/CPP Managers absenceOther duties as assigned. Qualifications Position QualificationsBachelors degree (including at least 15 semester hours in SocialServices-related instruction) from an accredited school required. Aminimum of one-year experience in counseling or related field.

Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience.
