How you make a difference : Activity Specialist – Creating Joyful, Therapeutic Experiences for Individuals Served As an Activity Specialist , you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of individuals served by planning and leading engaging, therapeutic activities that promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. With creativity and compassion, you’ll design meaningful experiences that inspire connection, encourage participation, and bring a sense of purpose and joy to daily life—all within a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities :
Improving Health and Well-Being :

Provides resources and opportunities to improve the health and well-being of individuals served.

Facilitates Activities :

Leads activities in both group and individual settings to engage participants.

Plans and Organizes Events :

Plans and organizes activities and special events, ensuring they are suitable for the occasion and the population.

Documentation :

Completes documentation in the medical record within the specified time frame, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Collaboration with

Departments :

Works closely with all departments and programs to meet the needs of individuals served.

Qualifications & Requirements :
Education:
Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Experience:
Required:

For contracts under Title 9-CCR, two (2) years’ experience working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral sciences, or related field may be substituted for the two (2) years of work experience.

Preferred:

Experience in a mental health setting.
