Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Education Abroad Advisor and Visa Coordinator performs a variety of duties in support of the recruitment, placement, orientation, and re-entry of students interested in education abroad opportunities. The advisor supports the development, implementation, and management of exchange, direct enroll, and cohort programs and scholarships as well as curriculum integration and marketing efforts in the Education Abroad Office of Global Carolina. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Experience advising students and/or traveling, living and/or studying abroad. Very strong attention to detail. Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Advises USC students about opportunities for study, internships, work, and volunteering abroad. Assists students in identifying the appropriate program and resources for funding as well as academic planning. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30
Job Duty Visa Resource and Processing Coordination:
Manages and coordinates all visa processing services offered by the Education Abroad Office, including scheduled appointments with consulates, drop-in advising hours, and digital resources. Oversees the creation of and updates all visa information on EAO resources such as the EAO website, pre-departure orientation, and checklists. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30
Job Duty Portfolio Management:
Manages portfolio of exchange programs and scholarships. Facilitates application processes for outgoing students. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20
Job Duty Student Support:
Designs and delivers workshops, presentations, and resources for students in each phase of the education abroad experience, including outreach, application, pre-departure, and re-entry programming, incoming orientation, and other topics as appropriate. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15
Job Duty Curriculum Integration:
Manages assigned departmental and student affairs liaisons. Manages curriculum integration projects in collaboration with assigned academic departments.
