Chester Center Success Navigator 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars York County, SC Job Responsibilities York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State. The Chester Center Success Navigator will perform the following functions: Provides proactive and timely outreach and support to students and uses a case management approach to monitor, meet with, and track students located in Chester, as identified by faculty alerts, and other historically at-risk student populations. Documents meetings and services rendered, utilizing campus retention software, Navigate, and provides reports as needed to reflect impact of case management efforts. Refers to appropriate academic personnel and support resources. Monitors the progress of students with check-ins, scheduled meetings, or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students’ questions, concerns, and needs. Conducts academic coaching, time management, and goal achievement sessions individually, in small group settings, or as workshops/presentations. Works with students to learn time management and organization skills; motivates students to take ownership of their academic success. Helps students in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials. Provides technology support to students struggling to adapt to the Learning Management Platform (D2L), Microsoft Office 365, digital course materials, or other technology imperative to their success. Reports trends in student behaviors to help assist with the development of student success, retention, and completion of presentations, materials, and data analysis. Provides support for Chester Center events and Rock Hill Campus events, as needed. Works collaboratively with all faculty and staff and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Prior experience in higher education Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of basic academic skills application and the ability to demonstrate the successful application of various academic skills. Possess characteristics of responsibility, desire to help others, discretion, and flexibility. Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving to various situations. Ability to work with college students of diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and Educational Technology a plus. Demonstrated competence in using basic computer software such as Microsoft Office. Possess good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills.
