  • Anderson County Higher Education Center Job Summary The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville, is accepting applications for the full-time Apprenticeship Specialist positions in the TCAT Knoxville Anderson County Higher Education Center.

This is a grant-funded position. The Apprenticeship Specialist is responsible for developing and expanding registered apprenticeship opportunities with local employers. This position works closely with local industries, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, and education partners to create new apprenticeship programs that connect students and job seekers to careers through hands-on, on-the-job training. Job Duties Identify in-demand industries and occupations that would benefit from apprenticeship programs. Conduct skills gap analyses to understand employer hiring and training needs.

    Cultivate relationships with employers to promote the benefits of registered apprenticeships and address barriers to developing programs.

    Provide guidance to employers on registering apprenticeship programs with the U.S. Department of Labor or the relevant state agency.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in a related field such as Business, Education, Marketing, or Counseling from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in customer service, education, recruitment, marketing, or related fields
  • Proactive and results-focused professional with expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery, driving projects forward to achieve desired outcomes Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating career education programs or partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience with grant reporting and project management

  • Must have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, audio/visual equipment, and software; and working knowledge of maintaining student records and/or sensitive information
  • Must have the ability to multitask with good organization and planning skills

  • Ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

This position often involves a combination of the following potential physical demands: Sedentary desk work

  • Sitting for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks, reading, writing, etc.
    Light physical activity
  • Walking around campus, standing for meetings or interactions, light lifting/carrying of files or supplies.
    Occasional lifting/carrying
  • Moving boxes, equipment, or other items that may weigh up to 25 lbs.
    Ability to navigate campus and industry environments
  • Walking up/down stairs, traversing uneven surfaces, etc.
SALARY:

Commensurate with education and experience according to the Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines within the range of $50,494

  • $65,647.
