Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to assist with advisement and counseling sessions. Advisors are required to inform participants about financial aid and college admissions requirements and deadlines. Provide individual/group counseling sessions, academic tutoring, and enhancement skills such as self esteem, self motivations, test taking and study. Advise participants to attend career and college fairs, college and professional career tours and encourage participants in program sponsored educational and cultural activities. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree, (Master’s Degree preferred), in STEM or an equivalent combination of education and teacher/advisor experience. Potential candidates should have recent experience with secondary school students and familiarity with college admission and financial aid requirements. They must also demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret statistical data. In addition, they must possess high work ethics with one year experience working with TRIO Programs or a comparable program.
