The position is within the Background and Recruitment Division and performs professional support services. The incumbent assists in duties related to police officer background investigations and recruitment. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct thorough social media inquiries on police officer applicants to ensure suitability for employment. The successful candidate will also assist with civil service testing, greet and guide applicants during in-person appointments, and provide additional administrative support throughout the background investigation and recruitment process. The Metro Nashville Police Department is a 24/7/365 operation. Whether you are a sworn or civilian employee, you will be responsible for the general welfare of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County. You will be responsible for ensuring optimum communications both within Metro and between Metro and the general public. Typical Duties + Conducts detailed reviews of applicant social media activity across multiple platforms in support of background investigations. + Documents and reports findings in a clear and professional manner for use in background investigations and recruitment processes. + Assists with preparation and administration of civil service testing materials as part of the recruitment process. + Greets applicants appearing for appointments and provides direction or assistance. + Schedules appointments and maintains tracking logs for background investigations and recruitment events. + Organizes and files sensitive applicant documentation securely for both background and recruitment files. + Performs data entry and maintains background investigation and recruitment databases. + Communicates with applicants regarding paperwork, deadlines, and required documentation for background investigations and recruitment. + Assists background investigators and recruitment personnel with clerical and research tasks. + Handles other duties as assigned in support of the background investigation and recruitment process. Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of increasingly responsible clerical/administrative experience.

LICENSES REQUIRED

Valid Driver License Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
