Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) – Substance Abuse CADAS Chattanooga, TN Job Details Full-time From $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Substance Abuse Counseling Certification Addiction counseling Certified Recovery Specialist High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Supervising experience Case management 1 year Entry level Full Job Description The Certified Peery Recovery Support Specialist will provide mentoring, education, and addictions disorder peer recovery support services including, but not limited to, peer counseling, transportation, and employment skills for those diagnosed with substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring disorders(COD); are under state-level community supervision and are reposting to local field office operated by the TN Dept. of Correction; and have been assessed to the presence of a SUD or COD or are discharged for SUD or COD treatment services and will benefit from additional support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide peer support services Certified Peery Recovery Support Specialist decrease the incidence and frequency of substance use relapses and overdoses experienced by individuals recently released from incarceration recovering from substance use disorder and mental health issues Assist service recipients by providing linkages, warm hand-offs and direct referrals to the treatment and/or other recovery services including community-bases peer support Certified Peery Recovery Support Specialist prevent opioid overdose through, establishing recovery plans, determining need for Harm Reduction (Narcan), and improving linkage to community-bases services. Maintain Certification for

Peer Recovery Support Specialist Regulatory Requirements:

• An eligible candidate should meet the following criteria: o Be in recovery from a diagnosed substance use disorder. o Have a minimum of 24 consecutive months of sustained sobriety. o Have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (GED or HISET). o Have a one (1) year time span from the expiration of their last felony and/or substance use/DUI sentence
