Coordinator for Calling & Career Development
Position Summary
The Coordinator for Calling and Career Development (C&CD) will support students in their vocational and career discernment processes, focusing on equipping them with the necessary skills and experiences for post-graduate success. The Coordinator helps students connect with their calling, develop their gifts, and serve the kingdom towards pursuing a vocational call. This role will develop and deliver instructional content related to career development and professional skills. Additionally, C&CD will provide guidance in career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies. The Coordinator will also maintain relationships with employers and alumni to create networking opportunities for students.
Reports to: Director of Student Success
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience Required
Knowledge of career counseling, vocational discernment, job market trends, and employer expectations.
Experience in developing and delivering instructional content related to career development.
Knowledge of student development theories, career advising, student retention strategies, and success services.
Knowledge of the curricula and programs offered at the College.
Knowledge of and commitment to the College and aims.
Ability to think critically, produce and analyze reports and proposals, and resolve organizational and individual problems in collaboration with other learning professionals as appropriate.
Excellent planning, leadership, supervisory, and collaboration skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
Ability to work effectively with students of all cultural backgrounds.
Attentiveness to detail and strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and handle them efficiently and timely.
Ability to understand and abide by federal and college guidelines regarding student confidentiality requirements.

Duties
Career Development & Student Support Responsibilities:
Provide individualized career counseling to assist students in identifying and pursuing their career goals.
Facilitate connections between students and potential employers, including organizing several career fairs and networking events.
Maintain relationships with employers to enhance career opportunities for students.
Develop and implement strategies to engage students in career development activities throughout their college experience.
Serve as head advisor for the Bryan College chapter of the National Society for Leadership and Success.
Provide support, services, and referrals to appropriate university offices as needed.
Work on additional tasks as assigned.
Serve as primary administrator for career development and job board service providers such as Handshake.
Oversee the administration of First-Destination Survey for seniors and graduates.
Instructional & Learning Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver workshops and seminars on career development topics such as resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
Provide instruction on vocational discernment, career planning, and professional skills development for both classroom and co-curricular activities.
Conduct one-on-one and group instructional sessions to help students explore career options and develop professional skills, including review of resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and other job search strategies.
Create and distribute learning materials to support students’ career development, including guides and online resources.
Provide ongoing instruction on using career development tools and resources effectively.
Offer training to students, staff, and faculty partners to implement and integrate the TruMotivate Assessment for vocational exploration.
Collaborate with Christian ation to connect career readiness learning with faith and vocational formation.
Desired Qualities
Familiarity with (or willingness to become familiar with) the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) core competencies and best practices.
Willingness to expand and contribute to the scholarship of career development via presentations or articles in the field of higher education – specifically student success.
